Travel is curiosity turned loose - the mode is as immaterial as the distance traveled...
Through our travel observations and the new friends we've met - we have endeavoured to critically understand the world around us and our personal failings and strengths. Media, culture and education continually bombard us with ways to perceive happiness, achievement, our social values, personal freedoms and the role of a government in our lives.
For the curious - travel wrenches away your comfort zone, challenges your perceptions and provides the opportunity to find your place and peace in the world. Add a few shots of Tequila in a bar far from home, and watch the world spin - even if your just laying in the back of an old Land Rover.
As a travelling family, our preferred method is our aging Land Rovers. Exploring in Eore or Brighty gives us the freedom to meander our own route and be spontaneous. Myself, I require some time under the moonlight to appreciate the bright lights of the city. Driving Land Rovers expands our route options to include unimproved tracks while hauling the fuel and gear we require to camp comfortably out in the wilds.
The travel section of shearpin.org shares our travel anecdotes and photos. I frequently surf the web to travel vicariously, and I have always appreciated the efforts others have made to share their stories. In this section, it is our hope to return the favour and add our chapter to the online Land Rover lore.
